The Big Bang Theory fans were treated to an unusual guest star last week, with a cameo by a certain flamesword-wielding feline warrior. No, we’re not talking about one of Sheldon’s experiments gone wrong (or right…?). The guest star was Rytlock Brimstone – or a 10” vinyl figure of him, to be more specific. The highly-detailed figure was the result of our collaboration with ArenaNet and NCSOFT to create the pièce de résistance of the Guild Wars 2 Collector’s Edition (the game aside, of course!). In addition to creating the packaging (which included a beautifully-embossed tin case), we helped bring the legendary charr Rytlock to toy life.
If you happened to catch the episode “The Occupation Recalibration” (S7E13; first aired Jan. 9, 2014), we were introduced to a rival comic shop to the group’s usual haunt. Viewers were treated to a few shots of Rytlock being showcased on a shelf behind the cash desk – prime shelf real estate indeed!
Rytlock also chose a great time to make his acting debut: over 20 million viewers tuned in to that episode of The Big Bang Theory. It was not only one of the most-watched episodes of the season, but of the entire series!
Rytlock did not respond to requests for comments on his newfound stardom, but we wish a speedy recovery to the reporters who tried.
