Unhappy at work? Maybe you need more stress! (Psst... no telling my boss, ok!?) A survey by a large disability insurer in the UK found 41% of people who said they were happy at work, also said their work was ‘fairly stressful’. Contrast this with the 23% of unhappy workers who confessed they had ‘no stress at all’ at work. According to the survey, the most important factors for workplace contentment are getting along with coworkers and the work environment. Money was rated low on the list. The survey also found that unhappy workers took more sick days - almost 20% more sick days than the average employee, with 6.2 sick days a year for unhappy workers, versus 5.2 for the average worker.
